Last year a close family friend passed away. I was completely devastated by the news of her passing. I felt numb inside. I can thank God that the times I have experienced death this up close and personal has been few and far between. I didn’t know what to do with my emotions. Of course, I meditated and lingered in God’s presence, but I wanted something more. So out of my grief I wrote the meditation titled, In Loving Memory, which I have dedicated to my lovely Vanessa. I also created this meditation for my brothers and sisters in Christ who have lost someone special and are gripped with a variety of emotions from fear, guilt, pain, to despair.
God gives us specific promises regarding heart-break, grief, mourning, and sorrow. I wanted this meditation to remind us of God’s faithfulness and love in such times of grief.
